Here's a bit of nostalgic news. Sailor Moon, an anime property that most would consider ancient by any standard, will be featured in a new DS game... in Italy. Sailor Moon: La luna splende will only be available in the boot.

A couple years ago, I was playing Final Fantasy XII. You have six characters and can use three at one time. For most of the game, I was building all six equally. I'd put them in three groups of two. When one of a group got a level, I'd sub in the other one until they got theirs and so on. This went on until the end of the game. I was ready to beat the final boss and was undecided on whether I'd keep playing to take out the rest of the marks and espers. Considering the rather ugly result of an attempt to take on the mark Fafnir, I figured I'd really need to buff my party. At this moment, I decided to go from working all six members to picking the three I felt I was doing the best job of developing and only working with them in order to save time.

2010 was a busy year and it saw the release of a bunch of great games. Staff and regular freelance contributors at Gameroni had the opportunity to play a wide variety of titles over the past 12 months and together we've compiled a list of 21 of our favorite games from the period. These are the ones that had the biggest impact on us, not necessarily the industry as a whole. We're sharing that list with you now, one title per day over a period of three weeks. Though there's only a loose order to this list, in general you can know that we liked games more as we work toward the number one selection.

Why didn't Alpha Protocol, last year's best RPG/shooter hybrid, find its place on more "best of the year" lists? The easy answer is that a) people liked other games better, and b) who cares? But as a bona fide, card-carrying, state-certified, legally designated Alpha Protocol apologist, I'd like to consider a few reasons it didn't find a wider audience among the dudes who adored Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and other highly glossy, middling fare that earned big bucks and stratospheric Metacritic scores.

If you like to dance and you love your Wii, then today is a good day for you. First there was the news that Ubisoft is selling Just Dance games like they're going out of style, and now--for country music fans--there's even better news: Gamemill Entertainment is going to be publishing a game called Country Dance for Wii and it comes complete with all sorts of music from the genre's current A-list!

Ubisoft today announced the worldwide sales figures for Just Dance 2, and for the relatively young franchise in general. The numbers for the Wii-exclusive series seem to have Ubisoft executives dancing with delight, and after you see them, you will understand why Ubisoft is so anxious to highlight them.

Even though Nintendogs was one of the first system movers for the DS, Nintendo sort of limited their audience by including only one species of animal. Nintendo undoubtedly wants the move even more 3DS with the next iteration, so they've doubled the pet loving and made it Nintendogs + cats. Even if you already own an adorable feline (or canine), some of the game's features sound exciting.
