Every few days, Falcom publishes an email newsletter for their ardent subscribers. Falcom News Express 151 opens with a Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki demo movie. The game's coming out on September 30 for the PSP -- which has become Falcom's primary platform ever since they lost their Windows distributor. That unfortunate event still makes me sad . . . but the PSP is currently the best-selling system in Japan, so there's a big audience for Falcom's games.



With that out of the way, the newsletter leads into a slew of Japanese text with lots of links.

In the top news item, Falcom showed Zero no Kiseki at the Tokyo Game Show, although the line was two hours long. The game also scored the top spot on Yahoo's weekly game ranking, which basically measures the collective amount of drool pouring from Japanese gamers' mouths. Considering their game beat out Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and Final Fantasy XIV, it's no surprise that Falcom's newsletter would link to this chart.

The newsletter also reminds readers that pre-ordering the game from their online store will score a set of four postcards, but Falcom only lets you see three of them. That's supposed to make you want to pre-order the set, because it's inconceivable that anyone would ever dare scan and post the fourth picture on the internet.

Next up, Falcom included a blurb about downloading games. That's for PSPgo owners. At last count, there were around 50,000 of those in Japan.

On an unrelated note, there are around 50,000 copies of Deathsmiles in American homes.

The rest of the newsletter is essentially a recap of everything they want you to buy this week, including two new albums from the Japanese iTunes store. No, you can't buy them if you have a non-Japanese iTunes account, which is disappointing because Falcom music tends to be pretty incredible. The newsletter eventually ends by showing us pictures of cookies.
