N The 3DS can do everything... eventually.

Nintendo used their address today at the Game Developers Conference to outline some features that will make the 3DS a must-buy machine. A logical move, considering the portable device is less than a month from launch. None of these features, though, will be available until a late-May system update (at the earliest). Games - The 3DS will have its own version of a Nintendo eShop, where you can buy Virtual Console titles from nostalgic hardware: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Sega Game Gear, and TurboGraphx-16 handhelds. You'll also be able to purchase DSiWare and transfer any games from your DSi. Movies - Like every other media device I own, the 3DS will be able to stream movies from Netflix. I'm sure you'll have no problem seeing all the action on the small screen. Videos - Nintendo will also maintain its own video service, delivering 3D content like music videos, movie trailers, and comedy shorts. In other words, it's a way to sell you more stuff. Access - In order to increase your access to information (the hardware will also feature a web browser), Nintendo has partnered with AT&T to allow the 3DS to have free access to over 10,000 Wi-Fi hotspots. Recording - This is the feature that's farther away. Eventually, Nintendo hopes to grant the ability for the 3DS to record live video in 3D.
