As revealed at the Aksys website, Arcana Heart 3 is coming to the PS3 as a downloadable title on April 19. Xbox 360 fans already knew they weren't getting this game (for undisclosed reasons), but their rage is resurrected every time a new press release comes out. Meanwhile, all the fans of physical PS3 media -- who were desperately holding out hope that Arcana Heart 3 would receive a true retail release -- remain disappointed that they will not be able to hold and caress a glamorous package or, you know, actually take the game over to a friend's house for some two-player action.

People care about this game because the original Arcana Heart was better than Street Fighter IV. Some apologists have said that I should be grateful Aksys is even releasing the game at all. Why should I be grateful? Money is no object -- I'll be importing a physical disc soon enough. All Aksys did was give me hope and therefore delay my purchase. And on top of that, I get to see the game treated like a second-class release in the domestic market. I'm not mad at Aksys -- they probably wanted a multiplatform physical release -- but I'll save my gratitude for when a company actually pleases me (see: Deathsmiles). All I can offer Aksys today is pity.

If you don't mind downloads and like fighting games, then ignore the complaints and just buy it. April 19!
