If you are looking for stealth, simulation, and adventure all in one package, there's a decent chance you already know about the Thief Simulator series. And now that series is coming to Xbox Series X|S on Wednesday, August 14, according to a press release from Ultimate Games.

Developed with CookieDev, Thief Simulator 2 is the second installment in a series that has already sold millions of units across consoles and PC, making it one of the bigger successes in the crowded “simulator” genre that has made games out of everything from owning a food truck to power washing… things.

According to a press release, players are responding even better to Thief Simulator 2 (which is already available on other platforms such as PC and the PS5) even better than they did the first entry. After 3.7 thousand reviews and counting, the game has enjoyed a selection of as many as 90 percent positive reviews. This in a world where review bombing exists.

While I haven't played Thief Simulator 2 myself and can't personally vouch for its quality, I can't deny the appeal this official list of features holds:

  • a new part of the best-selling simulator
  • improvements and innovations
  • two game modes (story and free mode)
  • an extensive character development system
  • diverse and extensive locations
  • a wide range of equipment (from crowbar to new technologies)
  • many paths to the goal

Do you see what I'm talking about? That sounds pretty sweet!

According to the press release, this second installment “puts more emphasis on realism and provides a total of about 20 hours of fun.” The locations you'll visit include numerous homes, and special attractions like a gold repository and a resort.

Already available on the platforms mentioned above, and now headed to Xbox Series X|S in the imminent future, Thief Simulator 2 is also slated to arrive on Nintendo Switch at some point. No date has been mentioned, but it's nice to know it's coming so you can lock down your valuables and be ready for it.
