Serious Bros. is bringing Imagine Earth to additional platforms, the independent developer has announced. On May 9, you'll be able to purchase the ecological city builder on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

Imagine Earth previously released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It spent a few years in Early Access before reaching Steam and Xbox consoles in 2021. Release on the Epic Games Store followed in 2022. But those releases left out a lot of gamers, who will finally get to see what they've been missing.

The release comes at an appropriate time, given that Imagine Earth has themes relating to sustainability and environmental protection efforts. From April 22 to April 29, Serious Bros. will donate a percentage of proceeds to reforestation around the globe. On Earth Day itself, that percentage will be a whopping 100%. Otherwise, it's 10%. Game devs gotta eat, too!

Set in 2084, Imagine Earth lets players manage a space colony. They explore various healthy planets, looking for ways to expand without destroying the planets they come to populate. It's a timely theme, with Earth's own population now in excess of 8 billion. Yes. I checked. There really are that many of us living here now. It seems like only yesterday the number was 7 billion.

Imagine Earth features a multi-mission story that finds you competing with as many as five AI factions. You'll deal with chemical spills, oil slicks, melting ice caps, and more, to say nothing of alien tribes and residents of the other colonies. Can you build a sustainable future?
