PC and PlayStation gamers will be able to play Earth Defense Force 6 in late July, D3 Publisher has announced. The game launches on July 25th, to be precise, with an MSRP of $59.99 USD for the Standard edition, or $89.99 USD for the Deluxe one.
Currently expected to arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC, the game is the latest installment in a long-running series from developer Sandlot that dates back to the first installment in 2003. At that time, the series made its debut as an entry in the popular Simple 2000 Series on PlayStation 2.
Earth Defense Force games pit players against a hostile alien force. The sixth numbered installment takes place in the year 2027, following victory over the “Primers.” There aren't a lot of people left alive at that point, so the last thing anyone really needs is to face a fresh alien invasion. Of course, another alien invasion is exactly what they get.
North American and European gamers who pre-order the game for PlayStation or PC will receive auxiliary equipment for wing Divers and three decoys. Hololive bonus items are available for up to five months following launch. And if you pre-order on PlayStation, you'll get a metal-coated version of the “Nix” combat frame with the Standard edition, or a specially painted combat vehicle for the Deluxe version. Tempted much?
