Democracy 4: Console Edition is headed to Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox, publisher Auroch Digital has announced. The port of the complex political simulation game from Positech Games is due to arrive Jun 5, 2024.

In Democracy 4, your goal is to win your next election by choosing policies, laws, and various other actions that positively affect constituents. Unfortunately, there's always the possibility they'll leave others feeling displeased, which is the nature of politics around the world.

The game places players in the political arena within one of ten countries: USA, UK, Japan, France, Canada, Australia, Spain, Germany, Italy, or South Korea. As you begin your campaign, you have a cabinet you didn't choose, which you must work with as you introduce policies, tweak bills, and try to gain polling momentum while dealing with current events.

According to a press release, the Democracy games are "the first PC games to be built around a Neural Network that simulates thousands of virtual voters.” Universities and colleges teach politics and economics with the Democracy games as an aid, and the series was even nominated for a BAFTA award. Now, the “most political strategy game ever made” has been adapted from the ground up to shine on consoles.

Democracy 4: Console Edition is now available to preorder on PlayStation or Xbox, and a Nintendo eShop page is expected soon. The PC edition has been available on Steam since January 13, 2022, if you prefer that platform or would simply rather not wait to get started on your political machinations.
