Quit harping on the point!

In Dragon's Dogma 2, you will find a variety of gear you can then upgrade to make it considerably more useful. Some of the crafting materials can be quite rare. You may not find one until well after you need it, unless you know just where to look. Such is the case with the poison pinion.
The item's name may not make it extremely obvious, but as far as I can tell, the Poison Pinion item is just a feather from the outer part of a wing. Specifically, it comes from a harpy. Not just any one will do, however. To find the Poison Pinion, you need to eliminate venin harpy enemies.
You can find the standard variety of harpy all over Vernworth. They're one of the first enemies I encountered, on my way from the northern regions to the capital city. Because they fly around, it's easiest to take them out using a bow and arrows, or the grappling move possessed by characters of the Thief vocation. Almost single-handedly, harpies made sure I learned that skill at the earliest possibility and kept it available throughout much of the game. Otherwise, the creatures can put you to sleep or poison you or whatever else.

Unfortunately, venin harpies are pretty rare in Vernworth. I've heard there's a nest near Checkpoint Rest Town. However, I find them especially numerous in Battahl, to the south. Once you pass through the gate (the Nation of the Lambent Flame quest walks you through that process), you will head along a winding road that leads to Bakbattahl in the southeast. Along that road, there are several points where monsters attack. In numerous cases, you may find venin harpies. If you let them get close to you, they try to spew poison over you. Otherwise, they function like your typical harpy.
Tend to the harpies however you like, and then raid their corpses for the precious material. There usually are three to five harpies in a group, which means each group you tend to will very possibly net a Poison Pinion or two. Then you can rest up for a few days in Bakbattahl and hit the road again. This makes the item easy to farm until you have upgraded all relevant gear. Then you can start selling the feathers for gold when you have a cash shortage. They're actually fairly valuable.
