Capcom's favorite DLC character is about to arrive in Street Fighter 6, the company announced today in a press release. Akuma, who made his debut as a hidden character in Super Street Fighter II Turbo, will get back to tormenting Ryu and the other world warriors starting on May 22.

According to Capcom, Akuma will be available across the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam platforms. Joining him are new outfits for Year 1 characters, a new environment, and “major” battle balance updates.

As you can tell from the above keyart, Akuma is looking every inch the grizzled veteran. He'll still packc a punch, featuring powerful moves such as Raging Demon, Empyrean's End, Ashura Senku, and Gou Hadoken (a red version of the famous fireball).

Besides Akuma, the update reveals Outfit 3 for all Year 1 characters, including Rashid, A.K.I., Ed, and Akuma. Akuma's new stage, Enma's Hollow, will arrive automatically for Year 1 Ultimate Pass owners. As for the major balance updates, Capcom promises more details in the upcoming weeks.

If you purchased the Year 1 Character Pass, Year 1 Ultimate Pass, or Deluxe or Ultimate editions of the game, you'll be able to step into the ring as Akuma on the day he releases.
