Cities: Skylines - Expanded Edition will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 late this month, publisher Paradox Interactive announced today. The release comes a few years after 2023's Cities: Skylines Remastered, which previously arrived on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, among other platforms.

Developed by Tantalus Media, which also worked on both Cities: Skylines Remastered and on Cities: Skylines - Nintendo Switch Edition, the upcoming release is the latest version of the popular city builder from Colossal Order that was originally released on PC and Mac in 2015.

In its expanded form, the game will feature improved visuals, better performance, expanded building tools, and new ways to play. Starting with only a few roads, you'll grow your cute little city into a thriving metropolis.

According to the press release, the game features 10 DLC expansions and content packs. On the DLC side of things, there will be After Dark, Snowfall, Green Cities, and Sunset Harbor. Map Pack 3, Country Road, Pearls from the East, Deep Focus Radio, Carols, Candles & Candy, and Match Day are also included.

Other features include 25 buildable tiles, a significant increase over the 9-tile limit featured in the original. UX improvements are on the way, as well, including precision placement, a distance indicator, and snapping options to enable more refined construction. Along with keyboard and mouse support, players should also look forward to a "performance" option that targets 60 FPS, as well as a "quality" option that targets 30 FPS and prioritizes visual fidelity.

Cities: Skylines - Nintendo Switch Edition will carry an MSRP of $49/£41.49/€49, but you don't have to pay the full price if you already acquired the previous game on the original Switch. In that case, you can claim a 70% loyalty discount on the new release, but only from Oct. 28 through April 28, 2027.

Look for Cities: Skylines - Expanded Edition starting Oct. 28, 2026.
