Tormented Souls 2 is available to enjoy on Switch 2 starting today, publisher PQube announced in a press release. Developed by Dual Effect, the game is a survival horror title that was already made available roughly one year ago for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X.

The game introduces new players to Caroline Walker, who previously starred in the first game in the same series. Her sister is now in the clutches of a cult, and Caroline will have to search all over the isolated town of Villa Hess to save her.

Using her supernatural abilities, Caroline can cross to the "Other Side," where changes made in the past shape the present and reveal new paths into the future. That's promising, of course, except that dangerous creatures lurk within that twisted reality, eager to end the hero's journey.

While relying on whatever weapons she can find, Caroline braves the developing hellscape. Along the way, she solves puzzles of the sort commonly seen in survival horror classics.

Today's press release lists the following key features in the game:

  • Welcome to Villa Hess. Explore a huge variety of unnerving locations within the town, including a shadowy convent, a derelict shopping mall, and an abandoned school.

  • Alter Your Fate. Harness your supernatural powers to switch between realities, change the past to reshape the present, and search for alternate paths forward in the nightmarish 'other side'.

  • Fight to Survive. Collect and modify an arsenal of makeshift weapons such as the nailer and chainsaw, and utilize the new quick select feature to switch armaments in the heat of battle.

  • Mind-Bending Puzzles. Examine, manipulate, and combine items to reveal hidden information, and forge connections between objects and the environment to solve intricately designed puzzles.

  • Death Surrounds You. Face off against lethal new enemies, from skittering bladed horrors to hulking armored abominations, and use your wits to survive monstrous boss encounters.

  • Shrouded in Mystery. Peel back the layers of a complex story full of twists and revelations. Encounter and cooperate with other characters each with their own agenda and dark secrets.

  • Flexible Gameplay Options. Relive the classic fixed-camera survival horror of the 90s with limited saves and tank controls, or switch to assisted mode for a more casual experience.

Tormented Souls 2 is available on Nintendo Switch 2 for $29.99 USD, and is also available on a game key card. Earlier versions of the game scored well with critics last year, so if you're looking for something spooky and good to play this Halloween, you may have just found it.
