Forge of the Fae is an upcoming RPG in the JRPG style from Datadyne LLC, a company based out of Maryland that has nothing to do with the corporation featured in the old Perfect Dark video game. Though the studio hasn't completed any previous games that I can see, it has partnered with publisher Deck13 Spotlight to bring this one to audiences next year.
Today, a press release was issued to advise press of the availability of a new trailer showcasing some gameplay, which concludes with a date we can expect the game to release: March of 2027.
Forge of the Fae introduces a red-haired young woman named Fiora. Along with her friends, she sets off on a journey to solve a mysterious disappearance. The world she encounters is inspired by 19th-century Ireland, fertile ground for people who are intrigued by the fae, and by various other characters of Celtic mythology.
You can view the trailer above, if you'd like. It shows off a game that reminds me of Suikoden, at least in the battle sequences. As influences go, that's a pretty good one.
Forge of the Fae will release on Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X, according to the press release. Although it comes from an unproven source, there's clearly enough there that it could be a pleasant surprise when it finally releases this coming March.
