Ratalaika Games today released My Lovey-Dovey Demon, a visual novel from ebi-hime. The game will eventually be be released on a fairly wide variety of console platforms, just in case you're eager to sample its demon love story.

In My Lovey-Dovey Demon, players meet an "average guy" named Taiki. He's 19 years old, just starting university, and finally figuring out what it means to be an adult. But because there probably wouldn't be a game if things were to go too well for him, you just know they won't.

And sure enough, a plot synopsis reveals that trouble is in the works.

For his summer vacation, Taiki and his siblings go to stay with their grandparents in the countryside. It turns out Taiki is related to some anime tropes: the haughty and fashionable Chiharu, the tomboyish troublemaker Nene, and the sweet and shy Reza.

Although Taiki longs to enjoy a relaxing summer, Nene ruins things for everybody by sneaking into their grandfather's study and summoning a demon. It's not entirely bad news, though. The demon who emerges happens to be a total cutie, with pink hair and a generous bust.

Taiki isn't thrilled with this development, even though the demon is a bit of a looker, in part because she is "completely besotted with him." That's the description from the press release, anyway. Now poor Taiki has to decide how to deal with this unexpected trial. And before you get too worried, the game is rated T for Teen.

The full list of features is as follows:

  • 80K words of text (approximately 4-6 hours of reading)

  • A kinetic story with no choices or branches

  • Detailed character artwork

  • A lot of pretty backgrounds of the Japanese countryside

  • A soothing OST

  • A very cute demon girl

  • A light, sweet, fluffy romance story!

My Lovey-Dovey Demon is priced at $10.99 on all the platforms where it is scheduled to appear: Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. There's no word on exactly when the Xbox editions will arrive, but they will support Smart Delivery. And the PlayStation versions are cross-buy, which I always appreciate even though my PS4 is packed away in a box somewhere.
