Some people have hair growing in places they would rather it not. That's a bigger problem for some of us than others, and it only gets worse with age. Not all of us have unwelcome folicles in the same places.
You might not see the opportunity there for a video game, but the good people at Yoshio Games apparently did, and they convinced 2P Games to publish the fruit of their labor. The resulting game, Hair Removal Salon Simulator, won't be available until later this year (if luck holds). The demo, on the other hand, is available right this very minute. In fact, it apparently has been available for two days now. Wild.
According to a press release issued only just today (which is why this is the first time we're telling you about the game), Hair Removal Salon Simulator is a "parody business sim." Steam figures a similar game I've played in the past is House Flipper 2, which doesn't look all that similar to me. But anyway, they're in the same (very broad) wheelhouse. So say the algorithms.
Hair Removal Salon Simulator lets players assume the role of a hair-removal technician and salon manager. Using your mouse, you'll trim with razors, or apply duct tape or black holes as an alternative. Between burning and yanking off unwanted hairs, you also get to hire staff, recommend self-care products your smooth-faced clients might like ahead of their next appointment, and work steadily to generate additional profits for your thriving business.

Although I never pursued my dream of becoming a hair removal salon owner, which I didn't even realize I had until a few minutes ago, it's nice to know that a game will soon exist to bring that dream home. Not only that, but the developers clearly understood the assignment. This quote from the press release says it all, really:
The hair removal process needs a steady hand controlling the mouse. Even tiny mistakes will have an impact on customer satisfaction and on their… physical well-being. Players must be careful to not shave off a customer’s eyebrow, or misfire the laser and singe their hair. Perfection must be achieved both by a flawless removal-work and a painless-experience.
As you build your virtual fortune, you'll be able to spend some of that revenue acquiring new equipment, renovating your salon, and managing your troublesome employees. The full list of features is as follows:
Precision-based hair removal using lasers and blades, where speed and care directly impact customer satisfaction and reviews.
Fever Mode transforms the treatment room into a high-energy dance floor once the hair-removal meter is fully charged.
Chaotic, over-the-top techniques; including duct-tape waxing, quick-draw blade strokes, and hand-conjured black holes, add humor and risk.
Dynamic upselling system lets players recommend skincare products, anesthetic creams, and premium aftercare packages based on each client’s budget.
Reputation-driven progression: five-star reviews attract new customers, while negative feedback can quickly damage the salon’s popularity.
Deep business expansion through advanced laser equipment, full salon renovations, additional treatment beds, and hireable staff.
I don't know about you, but that's just about every feature I routinely look for when deciding whether to add another simulation game to my growing collection.
The Hair Removal Salon Simulator demo is available to download right now on Steam. Act quickly, because you know what they say: hair today gone tomorrow!
