Players who have been looking forward to Monster Cuisine, the upcoming action-RPG from Team Machiavelli, don't have to wait any longer to get their hands on the game's content. At least, they can play some of it, as part of Steam Cooking Fest 2026.

According to a press release issued earlier today, Monster Cuisine is playable from October 12 @ 10AM PDT through October 19 at 10AM PDT. That's a full week to get your hands on an "appetizer" that includes:

  • 2 distinct enemy bosses, each of which drop unique loot that can be crafted into armour and recipes

  • 5 cookable meals, along with a variety of kitchen tools and cooking interactions

  • An introduction to the tavern management gameplay loop

  • The joy of feasting upon the slain corpsemeat of your fallen foes

Yes, I stole that list of attractions from the press release. Hence the British spelling of that one word. I am not British. Neither is Team Machiavelli, for that matter, hailing instead from Turkey (known as Türkiye since 2022).

In Monster Cuisine, you'll head into the wild and infiltrate the dungeons of fearsome monsters, with one goal in mind: delicious meals. You run one of the hottest taverns in the fantasy world, and your diners demand nothing but the very best... which you deliver at any cost.

As you battle monsters, you'll use the hides and such you find to craft unique armor, the better to raid more challenging zones. You already know what the demo focuses on, but here's a lit of features in the overall game:

  • Cook What You Kill - Butcher, season, sear, and serve delicious dishes for your customers and master a recipe book that grows as your kill count climbs and prices soar

  • Run Your Fantasy Tavern - Satisfy a colorful cast of patrons with cozy, addictive mini-games where you keep the mugs full and the chaos controlled

  • Fierce & Fast-Paced Fighting - Select your favourite tool of destruction and refine your playstyle before going head-to-horns with mythical creatures in glorious combat

  • Slay In Style - Experiment with your customizable armor sets as you forge the perfect build for your hunts

  • To Be the Boss, Eat the Bosses - Hunt, forage and fight across 5 unique biomes, defeating the most dangerous denizens of the Forbidden Forest and bringing them home for dinner

I'll admit it: Monster Cuisine looks like it could be right up my alley. If you'd like to try it yourself, make sure to try out the game on Steam while the opportunity is there. You can also wishlist it, if you like what you see. Developers love that.
