DANGEN Entertainment and developer Nanairo Enterprise today announced plans to release a new dungeon crawler, LitGirls: Bookbound Dungeons. The title is the next entry in the developer's "Girls World" series, following 2025's TurretGirls, but features a new cast, setting, and change in genre. The main idea seems to be that there are young anime women having adventures and not wearing a whole lot of clothing.

In this particular instance, the leading ladies are inspired by the heroes of classic literature, including Alice, Juliet, Dante, Raven, and more. The dungeons they will explore are drawn from those same literary works, which might allow some of us to accidentally pick up a bit of culture as we play.

Starting from the Astral Scriptorum, their home base, the brave girls launch expeditions into dangerous dungeons in search of rich rewards. They encounter many enemies and engage them in turn-based combat, while also avoiding traps. If they play their cards right, they might even survive to face powerful bosses.

From the sound of things, strategic placement will be vital. Players map out battle formations, then face enemies who have done the same thing. Two meters--HP and Pathos--will determine whether the girls can keep fighting. When they take damage, the girls risk losing vital armor, leaving them exposed and vulnerable.

As they explore, the Alice and her allies will call on LOGOS, which are word-based powers that let them turn the tide of battle by providing buffs or (if I'm understanding correctly) powerful summons.

Judging by the screenshots shared alongside today's press release, LitGirls: Bookbound Dungeons will feature beautiful artwork of the sort that might appear in deluxe versions of the classic literature that inspired the whole affair. The game also features music composed by Yoshitaka Hirota (Shadow Hearts) and Shoji Meguro (Persona), which is pretty fine pedigree.

When it arrives on Steam in the first half of 2027, LitGirls: Bookbound Dungeons will offer support for English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, which should allow it to reach a wide audience of "Girls World" enthusiasts. The developer seems to be betting big on fans who like their dungeon crawlers that play it lewd.

If you are such an individual, know that an 18+ version is also in the works and will eventually arrive on a separate platform built for such things. The exact details are being kept under wraps for now. If you would like to keep an eye on the game in the meantime, you can find it on Steam, or follow the official account on X/Twitter.
