On Feb. 11, 2027, PQube will publish a new spy thriller developed by Sumo Digital, according to a press release issued earlier today. The game will be available digitally on most platforms, and physically on PlayStation 5.

Sumo Digital is the skilled developer behind a number of past hits, including 2017's Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, which is basically the best kart racer you'll ever find this side of Mario Kart. The team also developed and self-published Snake Pass, a fun little project that let players assume the row of a slithering snake named Noodle.

Spyder: Agent 8 is another indie project, and it sounds like it must relate to the 2020 iOS game, Spyder. The new game casts players as Agent 8, the world's smallest spy. He is a robotic spider created by the Secret Agent Facilitation Enterprise (S.A.F.E. for short). With sticky feet and an assortment of high-tech devices, he aims to prevent the Syndicate of International Nasties (S.I.N.) from taking over the world.

Players will climb, crawl, and explore environments comprised of objects much larger than they are. When you're as tiny as Agent 8, even an orange is a big deal. A simple environment like a desk or a locker room might easily become an obstacle course full of puzzles to solve and hazards to avoid.

The game's list of key features is as follows:

  • High-Tech Spider - Play as Agent 8, a tiny spy gadget that moves like a real spider! A clever, charming hero who can crawl into every hidden corner.

Spyder: Agent 8 is currently scheduled to reach Switch, Switch 2, Xbox Series X, PC, and PlayStation 5 on Feb. 11, 2027. It will be available through select retailers as a physical produce, in the case of the PS5, while the rest of us will have to content ourselves with a digital release.
