At the Triple-I Initiative showcase today, Croteam and Devolver Digital debuted a new trailer for The Talos Principle 3. The game, billed as a "philosophical puzzle game," will conclude its trilogy sometime in 2027.

According to a press release, The Talos Principle 3 is set to take players "beyond the infinite to dozens of new worlds." Each one will feature its own stories, characters, and puzzles, and a few of them are showcased in the one-minute trailer.

Players who give The Talos Principle 3 a shot should look forward to "mind-bending" new puzzle systems, "radical" new environments, and a "truly epic, generation-spanning" story. And to think: most of us would have been perfectly content with a game that just played really, really well.

Our tastes, they're so pedestrian.

The Talos Principle 3 is developed by Croteam, elsewhere known for its work on the long-running shooter series, Serious Sam. Ironically, The Talos Principle series seems to be considerably more serious than that other franchise. It also seems to be quite good. The first installment has a Metacritic score of 85, after reviews from 57 critics were tallied. That sort of thing doesn't happen everyday, and yet 2023's The Talos Principle 2 scored even higher.

Definitely keep an eye out for The Talos Principle 3 when it arrives on PC and PlayStation 5. If past performance is any indicator, it could be quite good.
