The next character to join the Street Fighter 6 roster has arrived, Capcom announced today with a press release. Arjun is the second fighter to join as part of Year 4, and appears in the game on all platforms.
Arjun's history sounds a bit like Chun-Li's, thanks to a law enforcement background. He served as a police officer in India until the murder of his partner. Framed for the crime, he went on the run and now spends his time uncovering the mystery behind the homicide that changed his life.
Chun-Li was avenging her father, and I think also operating within the bounds of the law. But still, there's a recurring theme.
Watch the trailer above if you'd like to see Arjun do battle with Dhalsim, another character who hails from India. The bout does not go well for Dhalsim, who clearly eats a much different diet than the very muscular Arjun.
Capcom's press release sums up the punishment Arjun is capable of dealing as follows:
Arjun’s Yoga Breathing techniques make him a stalwart powerhouse that sacrifices speed for power. His strikes are capable of dealing recoverable damage to his opponent even after being blocked, while his devastating projectiles and clever traps combine to steal his opponent’s breath away in one fell swoop.
If you would like to get to know Arjun, you'll want to purchase either the Year 4 Character Pass or the Year 4 Ultimate Pass. He has two outfits: one showing him on the run while pursuing vengeance, and the second one showing him after successfully putting that quest behind him. You'll have to spend Fighter Coins to get that second one, or max out his Acquisition Gauge.
(I still have yet to play the game, alas, so I have no idea what an Acquisition Gauge even is... but I look forward to learning someday.)
Almost as an aside, Capcom also mentioned in the press release that Outfit 4 has dropped for fighter C. Viper, which is another entry in the (I'm sure) popular swimsuit series. Apparently, it is an "elegant yet vicious ensemble."
Street Fighter 6 is currently available for Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X.
