Developer Galago Group and publisher EdCorp today announced the availability of a demo for Tiny Harbor, their idle fishing management sim headed to Steam sometime soon. It could be right up your alley if you're looking for something a little cozier than the typical October fare.

Galago Group is a new indie publisher comprised of veterans from The Station, a studio responsible for past hits like SteamWorld Build, Islanders: New Shores, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure. This newest effort looks considerably scaled back compared to some of those prior releases, but it has charm working in its favor.

Tiny Harbor introduces the hero, Sidney, and her cat, Captain Sally. They leave city life behind and travel to the seaside harbor where Sidney enjoyed childhood summer vacations. Now, she's ready to turn memories to industry.

According to a press release, Tiny Harbor lets you play it either actively or passively, according to your preference. It's possible to take a hands-on approach as your little haven develops, or you can set up automation and leave it running while you tend to pressing matters in real life.

"We built Tiny Harbor for when life can feel pretty busy," said Adam Vassee of Galago Group. "We wanted to create this little cozy place you can escape to for a while, something that gives you energy rather than asks for it."

That's an easy perspective to appreciate, and the demo that is live now sounds like a terrific way to test it out to see if the game is for you. To be completely honest, I'm not sure whether I will risk it, simply because the best idle games wind up capturing my attention and preventing me from doing the things I meant to with my time. Judging by what I've seen from the trailer and screenshots, Tiny Harbor could be one of those. You know, a good game...
