Side Mission 017: A Shiny Mareep?

This side mission focuses on rumors of a Shiny Pokemon sighting. Play your cards right and you could wind up with a Shiny Mareep.

To begin, look for the quest provider in the northern portion of Wild Zone 1.

Find the Shiny Mareep in Wild Zone 1.

When you talk to Duve, he shares a rumor he recently heard. A Shiny Mareep has been spotted in Wild Zone 1. He wants to confirm those rumors and see the rare creature for himself.

Fortunately, Wild Zone 1 isn't especially large. There's a grassy area on the lower level, and a pond. Near the pond, you can find a ladder along the side of the building. Climb the ladder, and then scramble onto the rooftop. Then look to the right to spot another ladder. Climb it.

When you reach the top fo the second ladder, a scene follows. You invite Duve to come see what you saw: a pink Mareep that is clearly “shiny.” Duve is satisfied and you receive your reward: 500 Poke Dollars and Pretty Feather x3.

Stick around and capture the Shiny Mareep with a Poke Ball. You'll find it has stats that are much better than usual.

As a side note, I completed this side mission once night had fallen. I don't know if waiting for darkness is required, but it's something to keep in mind if you climb to the roof during the daytime and the Shiny Pokemon is nowhere in sight.
