Side Mission 022: A Call from Mable

While working your way through Main Mission 8, and after fighting Lida, visit a Pokemon Center to rest up your injured Pokemon. When you finish doing so, you'll receive a call on your Rotom Phone from Mable. She wants you to meet her at her lab.

Head to the Pokemon Research Lab and find out what Mable wants.

The Pokemon Research Lab is located at the bottom edge of the map, right near the middle. You can likely fast travel directly to it.

When you arrive, head through the front door and proceed straight ahead to reach the elevator. Select 3F: Director's Office to ride up to your destination. You will meet with Mable in her office. She hopes for your assistance with her research. To reward you for your support, she encourages you to choose a Pokemon from the Kento region to take with you on your adventure.

Your choices are Bulbasaur (Grass), Charmander (Fire), and Squirtle (Water). Which one is best? That's largely up to you. Since I chose Tepig as my starter, I went with Squirtle. If I had chosen a different starter, I probably would have chosen Charmander. It's generally best to grab whichever one will best supplement any Pokemon you have already gathered.

When you make and confirm your choice, you'll receive the Pokemon you selected as well as 1,000 Poke Dollars, Exp. Candy XS x3, and Exp. Candy S x2. The mission also concludes.
