Side Mission 038: Chasing Status

Side missions continue to teach important elements of the game that players otherwise might not notice, which is the case with this side mission devoted to status ailments.

North of Nouveau Cafe (Truck No. 3) and west of Wild Zone 7, you'll find two Pokemon Trainers standing on the sidewalk. When you talk to them, they challenge you to a Pokemon battle to help see what a difference status moves can make.

Defeat each requester in a Pokemon battle.

You'll need to win against both Deb and Maxen in order to complete the side mission.

Maxen the Jogger uses Pokemon that improve their stats over the course of the battle, meaning you will fare best if you take them out quickly. You'll face Riolu and Meditite. They're only at level 36, so neither one of them will last long against a heavy-hitting attack like Flame Wheel.

Deb the Jogger relies on Ariados and Arbok. Both of them are using poison-based moves, which means that speed is again useful if you want to win. Thankfully, strong fire attacks get the job done quickly with Ariados, while Arbok can't handle ground-based attacks.

When you win against both trainers, the side mission ends and you receive 2,500 Poke Dollars, Protein x3, Calcium x3, and a Power Bracer.
