Main Mission 09: Chase That Mysterious Pokemon!
This mission is fairly brief, consisting of a chase and a battle without time or reason to wander off the beaten path.
Chase after Zygarde! Don't lose sight of it!
You begin the mission standing on a sidewalk outside the restaurant you just left. Ahead of you is a Zygarde, which you have been instructed to chase. Despite the urgency in the objective, you don't have to stress much. The Zygarde stays ahead of you, but if it sees you flagging behind, it will stop and wait until you get close again.

Follow the Zygarde along the walkway, down a set of steps, right and up some more steps, left and along a bridge leading through the Jaune District, along a riverside trail, and up some steps that lead to the base of a high building. Here, the Zygarde looks up the wall. When you get near, a scene follows and then you appear on the building's rooftop.
In the next scene, AZ appears and gives a Mega Ring to Lucario, who ascends the tower and delivers it to you in time for a boss battle.
Boss Battle: Rogue Mega Absol
You'll spend most of the rest of the mission battling the Rogue Mega Absol, a powerful creature you can't hope to defeat with just normal attacks. Fortunately, you have Lucario battling at your side, and you have that ring. It will allow you to initiate a Mega Evolution. Eventually.

Start the battle by running around the Rogue Mega Absol. Keep your distance while giving Lucario orders. It can inflict mild damage, even against such a powerful opponent. As blows land, glowing light orbs occasionally drop to the ground. Grab them when they do, provided you don't have to get too close to the Absol.
Watch the circular gauge on the lower right side of the screen. When it fills, press the right analog stick in. You'll initiate the Mega Evolution. Briefly, Lucario's attacks do more damage. Hit hard and fast as the meter drains. Then repeat the process throughout the battle.

Occasionally, Rogue Mega Absol stands in place and produces a slowly spreading wave of nasty red light. When this happens, quickly back away to safety. It only extends so far. If you need to, have Lucario activate its Protect move, but it should mostly do fine without further instruction. Keep an eye on its life meter, though. You can use potions, as needed.
When you inflict enough damage, the monster finally collapses. A cutscene follows, wherein you receive Absolite. It's an important material for battling alongside an Absol. Another scene follows, and you gain an Absol of your own (specifically, the one you basically just rescued). The mission is now complete, and after another scene, the next one begins.
