Side Mission 006: Long-Range Moves Have Style

Getting in close and brawling can feel great, but long-range moves also have their place. Side Mission 006 explores the value of attacking from a distance.

To begin, look for Distan. He is located just to the northwest of Bleu Plaza. You'll find him standing near the corner of the fenced-in outdoor battle arena. 

Defeat the requester in a Pokemon battle.

When you agree to battle Distan the Rich Boy, he produces a string of Pokemon that can attack from a distance. Those monsters are Binacle, Skiddo, and Fletchling.

As Distan admits once you win, long-range attacks take longer to prepare. That means you can counter with a quick Pokemon that is able to get in close and do some damage early on in the fight. Or, you can just wait a bit before you agree to the fight. The monsters are all at around level 16, which makes them pretty easy to defeat even early in the campaign. I suggest using Staryu for the first round and Slowbro or Pignite for rounds two and three, but a lot of options can lead to victory in this early challenge.

The mission concludes. For your trouble, you win 1,000 Poke Dollars and Nugget.
