Side Mission 041: Watch Out for Traps

Have you ever entered into a conversation with someone and started to think it might be a trap? That's what will happen when you meet with Pie and she presents Side Mission 41.

Defeat the requester in a Pokemon battle.

Pie is a trap enthusiast. You'll find her in the area north of Wild Zone 1, which is southwest from Hotel Z. She waits in an outdoor battle arena, easily noticed because of the chain-link fence that surrounds it.

Talk to Pie the Police Officer and she'll challenge you to a Pokemon battle. Agree to duel and you'll face off against Onix, Camerupt, and Garbodor.

It's a good idea to bring powerful Pokemon to the battle, along with potions. The Pokemon are capable of using traps that slow your Pokemon down or inflict gradual damage, such as spikes or poison barbs. Projectile moves that let you attack from a distance wouldn't be a terrible idea. I personally did fine with Emboar and its Flame Wheel move. The other starters should fare similarly well, but you do need to keep an eye on life meters.

When you win the battle, you'll receive 1,300 Poke Dollars, Spikes, and Super Potion x5.
