Side Mission 016: The Budew Show

To complete this side mission, you must add a Budew to your party and then let it make an appearance in a competition to win a fabulous prize.

You will find the start of the mission when you visit the Vernal Pokemon Center. As you enter the covered area, a man calls you over and tells you about a competition he runs, the Budew show. He invites you to visit the event at the fountain square in Bleu Sector 8.

If you have a Budew in your possession, make it part of your active party and visit the fountain square. Otherwise, find one in Wild Zone 2 and add it to your party. The critter makes appearances in other places, as well. For instance, I found one on the rooftops after clearing Side Mission 04.

The competition event itself is easily approached from the eastern edge of the large building with all the shopping icons. There is an entry fee of 5,800 Poke Dollars to enter the competition, which you should pay. You'll get it back shortly.

Once you get involved, the rest of the event takes place as part of a cutscene. When you win the event, you'll be asked a few questions, but I don't see that your answers make any difference. You receive a reward of 10,000 Poke Dollars and a Miracle Seed for your trouble and the side mission concludes.
