Getting Started

The game begins by allowing you to choose your language, customize your appearance, and assign your character a name. Once you confirm everything, you won't be able to make changes to your language or name, so make sure you get them right. Then, when you're ready, begin your adventure.

A cutscene follows, and then you appear in a train bound for Lumiose City. Your destination is the Gare de Lumiose. You soon arrive and enter the station itself. Here, various travelers and their Pokemon await. There's not much to see, so go ahead and walk forward, then veer right at the guy talking about the gates.

Pass through the gates to arrive in an outdoor plaza area, where a nameless young woman is looking for a tourist she can talk into making a promotional video with her. You are the tourist she decides will work best. She talks to you about appearing in her video, but then an advertisement appears on the nearby screen. A long-winded CEO named Jett talks about the future of the city that will be enabled by her company, Quasartico Inc.

When the video ends, the young woman wants to start filming your commercial, but a Pokemon has run off with your travel bag. You're now provided your first proper mission, which is to get back your stuff.
